YMCA Youth Sports Programs

Looking for youth sports in Idaho Falls? The Idaho Falls Family YMCA offers fun, supportive leagues and programs for kids and teens, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, flag football, dance, and Try Y Sports for young children. Our programs focus on skill development, teamwork, confidence, and character, giving every child a place to learn, play, and grow.

At the Idaho Falls YMCA we use PlayerSpace for game schedules and team rosters! Please make sure you have the app downloaded prior to the beginning of the season!

FALL SPORTS

Youth Sports Registration Information

Season: September 21st to November 14th

  • Registration: June 13th to August 29th
  • Late Registration: August 30th to September 2nd

Late registrations include an additional $15 fee.

Program Fees:

  • $85 per participant
  • $42.50 for YMCA members

Additional Fees:

  • Flag Football Helmet Rental: $15 (required)

Coach Volunteer Information

Our YMCA youth sports programs rely on parent volunteer coaches to create a positive, supportive, and fun experience for all participants. Volunteer coaches help lead practices and games while modeling teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship. As a thank you for volunteering, parent coaches receive 50% off one child’s registration. To receive the coach discount, volunteers must call the YMCA to register. The discount applies to one child only and cannot be applied to online registrations.

Basketball (6U–14U)

YMCA Basketball focuses on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and supportive environment. Players ages 6–14 will learn fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense while building confidence on and off the court. Our programs rely on parent volunteer coaches to help lead teams and create a positive experience for all participants. Parents who volunteer to coach may receive 50% off one child’s registration. To receive the discount, coaches must call the YMCA to register.

Flag Football (Ages 5-10)

YMCA Flag Football is a non-contact program designed to teach the fundamentals of football in a safe and encouraging setting. Offered in age groups 5–7 and 8–10, players will learn passing, catching, running routes, and defensive positioning while focusing on teamwork and fair play. Our programs rely on parent volunteer coaches to help lead teams and create a positive experience for all participants. Parents who volunteer to coach may receive 50% off one child’s registration. To receive the discount, coaches must call the YMCA to register.

Soccer (Ages 4-13)

YMCA Youth Soccer provides youth ages 4–13 the opportunity to develop soccer skills in a positive and inclusive environment. Participants will learn dribbling, passing, shooting, and basic game play while building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Our programs rely on parent volunteer coaches to help lead teams and create a positive experience for all participants. Parents who volunteer to coach may receive 50% off one child’s registration. To receive the discount, coaches must call the YMCA to register.

Try Y Sports (Ages 3–5)

Try Y Sports is designed for children ages 3–5 to explore a variety of sports in a low-pressure, playful environment. Each session introduces basic skills, rules, and teamwork while helping participants build coordination, confidence, and a love for physical activity.

Y Dance

Offered to 3–14-year-olds, the Y Dance program gives youth a chance to learn a variety of dance styles like hip-hop, ballet, and contemporary. At the end of Register Now Register Now the season, there will be a concert where the kids will show off their moves that they learned throughout the season.

Volleyball (Ages 8-17)

YMCA Volleyball teaches players the fundamentals of passing, setting, serving, and team play in an encouraging environment. Participants will develop skills through structured instruction and game play while learning communication, cooperation, and sportsmanship. We offer three divisions: 8-10, 11-13, and 14-17. Our programs rely on parent volunteer coaches to help lead teams and create a positive experience for all participants. Parents who volunteer to coach may receive 50% off one child’s registration. To receive the discount, coaches must call the YMCA to register.

Adult Soccer

Playerspace is a sports communication portal, partnered with the Idaho Falls YMCA program, to strengthen the overall communications for our sports leagues. 

2. What information will I find on Playerspace?2025-07-18T07:26:14+00:00

You will find all the essential information for your player(s) league(s). You can find game/practice schedules, coach contact information, and even receive messages from your coach or other parents on the team. You will also receive messages regarding team pictures, weather status updates and cancellations for games/practices. 

3. How do I get on to Playerspace?2025-07-18T07:25:36+00:00

When you register your child for the sports league, you automatically are registered with an account on Playerspace. There is no need to create a new account! You will receive an e-mail with your username and password the first week of practice. From there you can visit playerspace.com and click “sign-in” at the top of right corner. 

4. What if I am not receiving the information and my ex-spouse is, but we both need the league information?2025-07-18T07:24:51+00:00

This is very common and is an easy fix!  Please email us request to be invited as a “fan” of the team. You will also need permission from the main account holder and from there you will receive an email with a link that you will need to click on to be added. Once you have been added as a “fan” you will be able to see all of the necessary league information. 

5. What if I am not receiving e-mails from Playerspace?2025-07-18T07:24:18+00:00

Be sure to check your junk, trash and spam folders for Playerspace. You will need to add [email protected]to your safe sender list. If you still are not receiving emails, please contact the Sports Department [email protected] 

6. I have more than one child and I can only see one of my children’s team information. How do I see my other children’s information?2025-07-18T07:23:46+00:00

Please ensure you are logged in as yourself as the “Master Account”, and not on your child’s dashboard. To tell if you are logged in as one of your children, check to see if it states your name’s dashboard or your child’s dashboard. To login as yourself, simply visit playerspace.com and login with your credentials that were emailed. 

7. Is there a mobile app for Playerspace?2025-07-18T07:22:35+00:00

Yes, there is! The Playerspace mobile app is available in the App Store and Google Play Store. It is free and does not take up much storage space on your phone. Your login credentials will be the same for both the app and your online web browser.
