Before & After School Programs
Our before- and after-school program gives children a welcoming place to start and end the school day. YMCA staff provide supervision, homework support, enrichment activities, physical activity, and time to connect with friends.
Program at a Glance
Age: Kindergarten through 6th grade
Before-school care: 6:00–9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday
After-school care: 3:00–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Early dismissal and school holidays: Extended care may be available
Transportation: Available for children attending participating schools
Schedules: Four or five days per week
Assistance: ICCP accepted and financial assistance available
YMCA School Transportation
Morning care includes transportation from the YMCA to participating schools. After-school care includes pickup from participating schools and transportation back to the YMCA.
Transportation availability varies by school. Call 208-523-0600 Ext. 107 to confirm whether transportation is available for your child’s school.
What Children Can Expect
Children may participate in:
- Homework and academic support
- Arts, crafts, and enrichment activities
- Games, sports, and active play
- Outdoor activities
- Healthy snacks
- Supervised free-choice activities
Daily Schedule
- 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Arrival and Snack Time
- Children arrive and check-in.
- Healthy snacks approved by CACFP are provided.
- 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Homework and Academic Support
- Quiet time for homework completion with assistance from staff.
- Academic games and activities for those without homework.
- 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Enrichment Activities
- Rotating schedule of activities including arts and crafts, science projects, and cultural studies.
- 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Physical Activity
- Outdoor play, organized sports, and fitness activities.
- 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Free Play and Pick-Up
- Children choose from various indoor activities.
- Parents/guardians sign out their children.
Before & After School Enrollment and Fees
Enrollment Process:
- Complete the registration form in person.
- Submit required documents (emergency contact, medical information, immunization record).
- Pay the $50 registration fee.

Register for Before and After School Programs
Registration opens August 3, 2026 and must be completed in person at the Idaho Falls Family YMCA.
Families are encouraged to register early, as space may be limited.
